  1. After finding out the hard way that nerovision doesn't handle AC3 audio files properly, I was forced to save the audio of my avi file as a WAV using virtual dub, then combine the audio and video using tmpgenc, then transcode/burn with nerovision. it seems like I took too many steps to make a dvd compatible disc. Is there an easier way to convert AC3 audio files to WAVs without reencoding with tmpgenc? Thanks

If your end product is DVD then why not simply re-use the AC3?

That would be my preference, unfortunetly, nerovision pukes all over itself when I try loading a divx file with AC3 audio.

If the AVI file has AC-3 audio then DEMUX with VirtualDubMod ... run it through AC3Fix and you are done. The final output is a "fixed" AC-3 file that will work with any DVD Authoring program that works with AC-3 audio.

The next step is to encode just the video to MPEG-2 DVD format. You need a MPEG-2 encoder for this of which there are many. Some choices (in no real particular order):

    1.) TMPGEnc Plus
2.) CCE aka CINEMA CRAFT ENCODER
    3.) MainConcept MPEG Encoder
    4.) ProCoder Express

Those are the 4 most popular.
