  1. Greetings! I have a friend who would like to convert .VOB files to MPEG2 on Windows XP. I'm looking for a point and click solution, because he's not very knowledgeable with computers.

I know I can get the .VOB from the DVD using DVD Decrypter or DVD Fab Decrypter. Is there an easy "point and click" solution to convert the .VOB into an MPEG 2 (not .avi)? Thanks.

To convert any format to MPEG2 (or dvd format), you need to encode the file.

  3. I used Ulead VideoStudio 9. Just import the file into the library. It converts it to mpeg2. Nothing else to do.

I believe DVD Decrypter will even rip into elementary streams also, but dont quote me on that.

If the DVD contained mpeg1 files, then yes you would have to re-encode.
    Quality is my policy.
