    how does one control new browser window size?

    Assuming IE:

    With only one window open, Resize the window the way that you want it. Hold Ctrl and click on the red X (upper right corner of window). The next time you open an IE window, it will be that size.

    Some web sites build this into their code, or have pu-ups/unders, so when you close all of the windows or turn off your PC, IE may use the Pop-up size as default.

    There's a fair bit of info regarding registry hacks to fix this in google. I found that the Ctrl and Shift combinations didn't work as well as fixing the registry keys directly.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    I guess I'm expecting too much, as if you had have done a google, you wouldn't be asking the question in the first place
