  1. Guys i've searched the forum and not come up with anything.

I want to watch xvids saved on my main pc from my laptop via a wireless connection (11Mbps. constant transfer rate)

This I can do, But I am suffering from both visual and audio Stuttering which I put down to the software waiting for more data.

I have tried windows media player and Power DVD and get the same problem.

I have tried altering the network buffering level but that doesn't seem to help.

Can anyone suggest a way to solve this, at 11Mbps it should stream with no issues.
Do i need to use a different player software?
Do I need to change a setting somewhere?
Do I need to change a setting in windows ?

    Any help would be appreciated,

    thanks guys

11Mbps is a burst rate not a sustained rate. Figure 20% of that and scale video bitrate accordingly. I use 320x240 wmv to my notebook (watching cnbc, etc) and it is fairly solid. 640x480 gets choppy.

These are walkaround rates. A fixed antenna may get a bit higher sustained rate.

You need to experiment with different bitrates until you find a rate that will play without excessive frame drops.
