  1. Hi,

This has bothered me for a long time and I tried several programs with no success.

Some home video were captured in my computers as AVI files. There is always a problem on audio (no sound) on my home DVD player (pioneer Elite DVL-91 DVD/LD combo player, 1997 1st genration product). This home player has no problem playing any DVD movies whatever the sound format is.

The software I used to convert AVI to VOB files and folders are DVDSanta. I like its speed and easy way of burning DVD (DVD-R). The home video DVD I created can play OK on my computer but not on my Pioneer and not on my frined's SONY...

Checked the AVI files, it says MPEG audio 2.0 for the audio part...

some few dvd players doesn't support mpeg audio in dvd or you might have to change audio output settings(usually mpeg->pcm) if you are using a receiver.

Sometimes if i'm feeling like making a quick and dirty dvd from a recording i just dump the mpeg into the authoring program without extracting the audio and converting it to ac3. When I do that I have to change my settings on my SS receiver from digital to analog or i'll get no sound.
