I haven't been into mainstream music for a while, but I thought that whole Metallica thing died down years ago. Or am I wrong?...looks like some former fans are still ticked.

Kind of like me with Weezer. Love that group...at least I *loved* their 1st 2 albums...but everything since then has been more and more commercialized. And I rather dislike it. Sure that's subjective, but to a true fan, it's obvious that their change in style was more than just a stylistic evolution.

So Metallica could very well have "sold out" or "cashed in"...if you like their newer stuff that's fine, but if you don't and were a loyal fan from their older days, then I think you have some right to be a little steamed.

One I've found interesting is BARENAKED LADIES. I bought two songs on ITUNES. IF I HAD A $1,000,000 and ANOTHER POSTCARD. Both are fun and unusual. Its like they're just trying what ever sounds fun instead of what "would be a sure thing". Now I haven't bought a full album of theirs yet but I may. They've been intersing and fun so far and I might like more of their songs.
