    There are only like 7 or so backgrounds in TMPGEnc Dvd Author and I haven't seen or been able to find a way to add my own background image. Is it possible to do this?

    yep. this is for 1.6, but I assume it holds for other versions. Click on Create Menu, the click on the background. You should then be able to open a file. This can be a still image file, or a video asset, inwhich case you can use the slider to select the frame you want as the background.
