  1. I want to make a dvd that is 7 gig and delete some stuff so it will fit on 4.7 gig disc. The problem is I cant move the .vob files from the dvd disc image because it says the disc is locked or the .vob file is locked when I drag it to the trash can. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Danny

  2. I believe using Smartripper which can be found in this website's tools section will solve your problem

  3. I assume that you are trying to take a retail DVD and make a copy for yourself, only you discovered that the 7gig movie wouldn't fit on your 4.7 gig DVDr.

If you just want the movie I would say convert it to an SVCD, not an easy task on a mac and you do have to lessen the quality plus you have to use CDr's instead of a DVDr and I assume that you do want to use a DVDr so here is what I have to say:

Rip the entire DVD to your computer. Rip all the audio that you don't need and rip all the extra video you don't need. If the DVD is just really good quality then you would have to use final cut pro to down grade the vobs and then put them back on the disc.

Either way, I would just say that you skip bootlegging this DVD and just wait until they make bigger DVDr's.

    Besides, PIRACY BAD!

  5. There are a couple of ways to view .vob files. Try MacMpeg2Converter at http://homepage.mac.com/linux/. Drag all your vob tracks to the window, hi-lite one, click Transform, then play (video only). This is a carbon app so it should play on OS9 or OSX. The other VideoLAN at http://www.videolan.org/ (OSX only), plays audio & video.
