I got a pinnacle dc1000 with firewire from my friend. He had found it abandoned from the warehouse of his working place. They had renewed their equipment and this was not in use anymore.

Unfortunately he didn't find any software cds for the card. I downloaded drivers from Pinnacles site and the card is working well (WinXP). The only problem is I don't know which programs could use it.

I guess it's especially for Adobe Premiere but I don't have it. Are there any other programs that can be used to capture from dc1000? Or do I need a certain middleware program from Pinnacle (which I don't most likely get couse they have discontinued updating dc1000)?

According to the specs it comes bundled with:-

The DC1000 is a complete, frame accurate video editing solution using state-of-the-art real time dual stream MPEG-2 technology. DC1000 is bundled with Premiere RT5.1, TitleDeko, ACID Music, and Minerva Impression CD-Pro video authoring. It is designed for videotape, CD-ROM, and Internet video production. The DC1000 can be upgraded to DVD1000.

If it is anything like the DV 500 then I capture using the Pinnacle software then use whatever program, Vegas, Sonic or Premiere tio work with the files

The DC1000 is highly proprietary to Pinnacle and stuck in time with driver support stopping back around Y2K. Back then Win98/NT drivers were hand crafted by Adobe and Pinnacle. This was before XP and DirectX (for editing support).

That means a legacy setup with Win98se/NT4 drivers, Premiere 5.x etc.
