    Hi,

    I had two .VOB files extracted from two different DVDs . Since each of these were more than 2 GB in size , i followed this guide ( https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1341524 ) for authoring a new DVD .

    1) First I demultiplexed the two VOBs using VOB Edit .
    2) VOBEdit generated a single .m2v file (Combining both the VOBs) and a .ac3 file
    3) Authored a new DVD using Remux option in IFO edit .

    Now only I noticed that the second VOB file was of a different aspect ratio , ie 4:3. And this was lost during the demux process at Step 2 . The output DVD movie which IFOEdit produced is of aspect ratio 16:9 , may be becoz the first VOB file had an aspect ratio of 16:9 .

    Unfortunately I donot have the ORIGINAL .vob files with me anymore .. I tried reauthoring the new DVD using DVDshrink to extract the second VOB, but that too produces a vob file with aspect ratio 16:9 .

    Is there any way to get back my original VOB files with their original aspect ratios ?

    You can rewrite the ifo files using ifoedit to change the aspect ratio, however if you have authored these into the one titleset, you are screwed as a titleset can only have a single AR.

    Oops.. I had renamed those source VOB files to VTS01_01.VOB and VTS01_02.VOB before demuxing . I still have those output (demuxed) files from VOBEdit . A single .m2v file (Vobedit has combined the two vobs into a single video file, I think) and a single .ac3 file

  4. 1. You need to split the demuxed mpeg at the point where the change in the AR occurs. This can be done with mpeg2schnitt or cuttermaran.
    => 2 new m2v and ac3 files
    2. Patch the wrong header(s) of the second m2v file with dvdpatcher or similar to the correct AR of 4:3.
    3. Use authoring software that supports multiVTS for reauthoring. It is possible with ifoedit, but quite cumbersome...
