    Click on the link "Exclusive: See Hilarious 'Earl' Outtake"

    How can I download that video?

    These companies cannot stop you from downloading the video, but they sure as hell can bury the information you need to find it. I've looked at source and just cannot see the video file location.

    I just clicked on the link and it opened a popup asking what type of connection I had. I selected, and it propmpted me to install a plugin (I use firefox). I stopped there because I didn't trust AOL not to put shit on my machine.

    Tried it with IE this time and got the same result. It plays quite happily.

    Do you have a popup blocker or IE6 blocking things ?

    Make the page available offline.
    When you open it, you should be able to save the video.

    I can see this wmv file so I guess the name of the file is earl_outtake_092705.wmv but I can't see what the prefix would be before the /aol/us part as I tried the obvious ones

    I have seen some though

    http://progressive.stream.aol.com/aol/us/aolentertainment
    http://demand1.stream.aol.com/ramgen/aol/us/aolentertainment

    Item0 = { wmsid: "/aol/us/aolentertainment/bumpers/content_warning;sbr:700,460,320,120,28.wmv", sText: ["","","Mature Content: Viewer Discretion Is Advised","Next: 'My Name is Earl' Exclusive Outtake"], cpid: "pmmsid:1374170", assetInfo: { franchise: "TV: General", surfacePoint: "us.aol.tv.my_name_is_earl_tv_my_name_is_earl_ tv", playlistGroup: "" } } Item1 = { wmsid: "/aol/us/aolentertainment/tv/2003/nbc/partner/earl_outtake_092705;sbr:700,460,120,28.wmv", sText: ["","NBC","\'My Name is Earl\' Exclusive Outtake"], cpid: "pmmsid:1410836", assetInfo: { franchise: "TV: General", genre: "Television - Comedy", surfacePoint: "us.aol.tv.my_name_is_earl_tv_my_name_is_earl_ tv", playlistGroup: "" } } PlayList = { items: [Item0, Item1], loop: true }

    I have a proxy server handy, so I just monitored the logs as I was connecting to the url.

    at this point, you will probably need some type of stream ripper, such as the 'asf recorder' or something similar

    I just assumed that being a wmv file you'd be able to grab it without using stream rippers somehow
