  1. Can't Backup with DVDShrink or DVDDecryptor. Shrink does that redundancy thing it often does, so go to Decryptor and it gets stuck on 1% because of read errrors.(even though Settings are Ignore Read errors)?? Any help would be cool...just a newbie....What if I try to rip as ISO or something instead of File mode???

DVDFab Decrypter is what I use on the newer videos that DVDDecrypter can't handle.

ive tried : shrink, decrypter, fab decrypter, dvd43, anydvd, freedvd in several combos of each....bottomline cant open with dvd shrink. its the only one that gives an error.

    Invalid data in file"C:\DVD_VIDEO\VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_4.VOB"
    Overlapped I/O operation in progress.
the only other problem is decrypter wont read to .iso

Yep, mine said the same thing, VTS_02_4.VOB was the problem.

DVD Decrypter would not rip it in any mode.

I tried the latest VobBlanker, nothing!!!

For the first time ever i decided to download and try DVDFab Decrypter...
It ripped the disc to my HDD... Oops!! guess what

DVD Shrink still would not open it!!! EVEN after getting it to rip with "DVDFab Decrypter" !!!!!

Just for shits and giggles, i thought, well, i have it ripped to my HDD so why not try VobBlanker on those files. This time VobBlanker read them fine, and after running it through, DVD Shrink opened them fine!!

This is what i got from DVD Shrink after ripping with DVDFabDecrypter

This is what i got trying to open the disc with VobBlanker

So even though DVDFab Decrypter did rip the disc, it still would not open in DVD Shrink until i ran it through VobBlanker.
This is the first disc i have had a problem with like this.

Did ya get it to open in dvd shrink ??

Huh... just ripping it with DVDFab Decrypter i still could not get it to open in dvd shrink... and i tried on two of my machines... in 4 diff. drives... it ripped fine but beyond that... nadda....
Or did it just "rip like a charm" ?? because it ripped lke a charm for me too... but after that.... Until i ran it through VobBlanker...

Are others having this problem or is this an isolated problem ?? and i mean without using all the hocus pocus programs!!! because this is the first dvd i have come accross that i could not rip with DVD Decrypter!!! after months of people saying DVD Decrypter could not rip this dvd, and that dvd, when i have ripped them fine!!!

I was wondering if i just had a messed up dvd or something...
Because, bottom line, even using DVDFab Decrypter the files would not open in dvd shrink!!! but then i never used anydvd as many others seemed to have to use to get dvd's ripped that i have ripped alone with DVD Decrypter
But this one was definately NOT ripping, with either ripping program.. actually 3, 4 if you want to count dvd shrink :P

Sucks!!! i had to up from using 2 programs to using 3 programs to get this one backed up Oh well... another 3 minutes out of my time :P

  13. What did you guys strip out to get the movie to fit onto DVD?

I used DVDFab to rip the movie to disk and I finally got Shrink to open it, now I'm trying to figure out what to take out to fit the movie to DVD.

What video quality percentage were you able to get? Mine is currently 54%

  14. You may want to get shrink 2.3. I believe once 3.2 detects an error, thats it. You will not be able to use 3.2 for that file.
When this has happen to me, I just use 2.3.

  15. I watched part of this flick & I don't know why anyone would want to have a copy of it, unless you are in it

  16. Sometimes I think the challenge of proving it can be done is the entire issue. The quality of the film or dvd doesn't always seem to matter much.

  17. Ah yes, execellent point. Still I don't know why they would try to protect this film.

Try Ztown its by the same guy, but a much better documented story.

  19. Dear all,

Could you please help me to test new beta of DVDFab Decrypter, to see if the output folder can be accepted by DVD Shrink without help of VobBlanker?

    DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.5.2 Beta2:
    - Change: Correct VOBU when removing "Sony ARccOS protection".
This should fix DVD Shrink error "Invalid data in file ...\VTS_02_4.VOB"
when opening files of "Lords of Dogtown" (US).

    Thank you very much!

    Best Regards,
    Fengtao

    Fengtao,
Im having dial-up problems as usual and have not been able to get a new copy after your last response yet. In the meantime, I ran the disc thru a 2nd time(after deleting all folders on the HD) and now it opens in dvdshrink 3.1.7.6. Transcoding at the moment, and the last download just filed again..server problem?
    Thanks.

Yep!! i have actually been Anti-Sony years before dvdr's or dvd burners. hence my avatar 8)

    @ fengtao
I uninstalled DVDFab Decrypter v2.9.5.0, DLed and installed DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.5.2 Beta2, and the same thing happened when trying to open in dvd shrink,

I had previously tried on 2 of my pc's, so i tried on my 3rd pc just because i had not tried on that one before and i thought it would be a good test on a clean machine, and the same thing happend

One more thing i was going to mention, this is the "theatrical version" dvd, i was wondering if the "Unrated Extended" version has the same problem and i just noticed that someone is having problems with the "Unrated version" in the Mac forum also.

yes last week i tried the UR version, but dvdfabdecrypter had not yet been updated(to V. 2.9.5.0) it didnt work and i even tried vobblanker just like we have here

  26. I had the same errors as everyone else with both shrink and decrypter, so trier dvdfabdecrypter, and it ripped right through the unrated version. From there, I went straight to shrink, and it worked perfectly. I did not have to use vobblanker.

  27. Sorry to jump in here....But I was having problems with Lords of Dogtown also, but finally got it to work with only 2 steps...
Tried DVDFab, DVD Decrypter and Voblanker...All didn't work for decrypting...But then I downloaded the Beta 2 DvdFab Decrypter mentioned above and it decrypted it great...1 try, nothing special..
    Then I used CloneDVD2 to burn/split it...Worked Great!!!
Sorry I can't help with the Shink problem, but thought I would throw in my alternate method..
    GO SOX AND PATS!!!

My buddie has it also and tried on his system and also got the same error until he ran it through VobBlanker.
