    Try this:

    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=149962

You may have a conflict within the driver setup with your burner. DRM can really interfere with copyrighted material...

1: can you play it on pc ?

2: If possible , and you have a freind with a dvd drive , try copying it with their unit .

3: A bios update for unit may be available , check with manufacturer ..

If it dosent work then the io error , which is meant to be a system error , is actually only partially correct , what it should be saying is disk read error , meaning inferior material or duplication process error , or an actual system problem , however the last dosent seem possible if original material has no problem .

Try using the nero cd/dvd tool and see what it has to say about the media ...

There is some information regarding older dvd writers not being compatable with discs created by newer dvd burning models .

The other issue could be due to a faint scratch near the bootsector (center ring) which will cause this problem , and may be repaired using a cd/dvd scratch removal sollution .

There was also a copy program that had this issue , but I cant be sure if it was dvdxcopy that done this initially , or another product , but it prevented the creation of copies of copies , I'll have to go back and investigate those tools again ...

If you do have another dvd drive available on another pc , it would be of an interest to install pgcedit , and get it too load the dvd , and see who the author is , then it may give an indication as to the culprit which caused the initial problem .

    Try DVD Decryptor.

You could also just copy all of the files from the DVD onto your HD and then burn.
