  1. I am trying to convert a DVD to a VCD but having problems
    with TMPGEnc. I have SmartRipper v2.41, DVD2AVI v1.76 and
TMPGEnc v2.02 installed. In TMPGEnc, when I try to enter
the .d2v file as an video source, I get the error indicating that it cannot be opened or supported. The same with audio source. I do have the VFAPI file and the DVD2AVI in the same folder but when DVD2AVI program is opened up, I noticed that in the help tab, VFAPI is not checked. I tried to check it but it doen't work. Is this the problem? How can I get around this problem, please help.

Make sure you have the both dvd2avi.exe and dvd2avi.vfp in the same directory.

  3. I went to the DVD2AVI home page and was unable to download the DVD2AVI.vfp file. Any idea where there is a link that is working?

I'm having the same problem myself.

I used DVD2AVI and it worked flawlessly, the dvd2avi.vfp and the dvd2avi.exe file are in the same directory, the "VFAPI Plug-in" option is ticked(it can't be unticked).

The same option in TMPGEnc is ticked as well, but it says it's unsupported when I try to open it.

    HELP!!!!

In order for TmpegEnc to read the files, you must get Vfapi plug-in for TmpegEnc. The plug-in must be in the same directory as TmpegEnc. Go to Sefy's Guide for Ripping DVD. There is a link to download both TmpegEnc and the plug-in.

  6. Guys, make sure that DVD2AVI you downloaded is unzipped into the same location your TMPGEnc is, and also that you have the VFP package from where you downloaded TMPGEnc, without all those files it will not work!

  7. I downloaded the VFAPI Plug-in from Sefy's site and extracted it to the same file as TMPGEnc and when I run the TMPGEncVFP_Install, I get a message indicating "Error loading TMPGEnc.vfp. The system cannot find the file specified." The file is: C:\>rundll32.exe TMPGEnc.vfp,RunDLL_VFAPIInstall Register. What do I need to do to get around this problem?

  8. You didn't extract it to the same location, I suggest you delete your entire TMPGEnc folder, re-download TMPGEnc and the VFP and DVD2AVI, and make a folder, lets say theoraticly in:
    C:\Program Files\TMPGEnc

then unzip to that specific folder using any Unzipping program you like, and THEN try running the batch file again.

If you are having problem with rundll32, you might have the Sirc32 Virus in your PC.
