  1. Had this trouble before years ago. I used to use my P3 550 to run virtualdub set, finally got it working after months of playing. I am using XP AMD 2600 Win Pro now and I am still trying to get it to Frameserve(again). Everytime I start to try and frameserve I get messege "couldn't create tempory file. Try again?" and "AVIFile frameclient install failed". I have tried to put files "msvcr70.dll" into System and System32 with no luck. I had read that that file in question was a runtime libary. But what size should it be as they all vary depending on date. Think this was my problem many years ago! Can't remember. I am fine with doing frame serve with AVISynth, Tmpg and any others just can't set this up again. Any help would be good. Thanx for reading.
Keep going till you get it right!!!

  2. Try using the newest version 1.6.10.

Go to folder were vdub is at, click on auxsetup.exe and install the handler. Then run virtualdub, load video clip, do your filtering or whatever. Then go to file/start frameserver, name your .vdr, then open up .vdr in encoder of choice that supports .vdr frameserver client. You should be good to go.
    Quality is my policy.
