Hi, just now i put in one of my panasonic double sided dvd-ram disks, into my panasonic recorder. As it reads and plays on this particular disk it seems to buzz, and today somewhat louder than normal (its been buzzing slightly before).. so its not really useable anymore, and i dont feel happy using it in my recorder.
Also before you ask, it is a ram disk in a cartridge, and i have also tried it outside the cartridge in the player. It buzzes still.
Has anyone else experienced this? has the disk had it or something?
Would it be a good idea to contact panasonic and see if they will send me a replacement? because they are quite expensive disks..

I use DVD-Ram in my Panasonic E80H DMR and have not noticed any "Buzzing" sounds whatsoever..Maybe the disc itself is corrupt..have you tried any other Ram discs, and get the same results? If so, it's not the disc, but the drive..... I don't think Panasonic would replace the disc unless you could prove it was defective somehow.. then again you can always try....If it is the Drive and not the disc, you can go to Panasonics site and check in their tech area and lookup a local authorized repair shop close to you... My Panasonic Recorder went up and I located a repair shop about 30 miles from me, and they repaired it (out of warranty of course)... Do you have a DVD-Ram capable burner/player in your PC? if So, does it make the same sound??

The disk doesnt make the sound in the pc reader or writer as far as i can hear.. but maybe the one in the dvd recorder is just more sensitive?
With other dvd-ram disks in the dvd recorder it doesnt buzz... except tonight i noticed one it maybe buzzed a slight bit when i just put it in.. but maybe thats just the front cover bit moving. Tried both sides of that disk from last night just now, both sides... didnt hear any buzzing - bit difficult pc is on.
I'll try my 3 other ram disks later.. i think its just one disk that buzzes though. Also i got a 3 year warrenty with the recorder at the place i bought it.. so if the drive goes wrong i can just take it back and they'll send off or repair themselves.
