  1. I have imported into iMovie various DV movies from my mini-dv camera. These are lectures and that type of stuff. As I did not have a ‘boom’ mic or wireless mic the audio leaves something to be desired.

Is there a way to ‘extract’ the audio from the iMovie and amplify it and put it back in sync? Im not looking for Cinerama type work, just a better a better quality QT movie export where I can hear the lecture better.

    Thanks rotuts

  2. Amplifying the audio will also make all the ambiant noise louder.

You can export the audio from iMovie, and with a high quality sound app, filter the ambiant noise, and boost the voice, and then save as AIFF and import back into iMovie.

In iMovie itself, with no exporting/importing involved, you can boost the volumn of the tack by clicking on the thin line that runs through the clip and moving it up, at the beginning of the clip and then at the end. You can see the percentage of audio increase in the little window at the base of the screen. But this will also boost the ambiant noise.
