what is latest OFFICIAL version of FFDShow? and is it recommened to install UNofficial version?

Whatever the latest on the official sourceforge page. Milan did do some newer builds, however they weren't added to the main download page.

Well it isn't as though there aren't problems with the official builds. Some are just way out of date and the 20041012 build doesn't install correctly for VfW on NT based systems.

The unoficial builds also have there problems, but nothing really serious that I have heard so far.

As saying goes though "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". So unless there is something you require from a newer build then there is no need to install it.

I think it is fair to say though that people running unofficial builds have helped find a lot of bugs which otherwise might have gone unnoticed.

If you are looking for something more stable, you might want to go with a slightly older cvs build. That way it is more tested.
