Hi guys n gals,
I found this site and was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem im having with the above mentioned capture card. I bought it from www.scan.co.uk just under a week ago. When it arrived i installed it without any problems, the drivers went in fine as well. I hooked up the correct cables into my Sony DAV150G DVD/VCR Combi unit, and into the capture card via the S-Video port (the Combi doesnt have an S-Video out port, but im using a scart to S-Video adapter), and am using AV cables for the sound. The sound is coming through fine, but the image will only come through in Black & White. I thought that it might be a problem with the s-video cable, so i tried plugging the Video cable on a set of AV cables into the card, and yet again the image will only appear in black & white. Does anyone know why this is happening and how i can get the image in colour?
Thanks in advance for your help!![]()

Those simple scart adapter boxes/cables only route the signal pins to the different connectors, they don't convert the signal!
If there is no S-Video signal coming out of that DVD/VCR it won't work.
You indeed will get then a black/white picture because the S-Video and Composite signals share some pins on the SCART connector.
The only option is to use the composite connection of the Winfast card and your DVD/VHS combo.
