    Hi all,
I have an xvid file that I want to convert the video to mpeg4 V1 and the audio to PCM.
I have tried using ultra avi converter but the audio sync gets progressively worse as the file continues being just under a second out at the end (the source file is fine). I first thought that it might be because I am changing the fps from the source file to the output file but even keeping the fps the same it still loses audio sync. It happens with every file I try to convert.
Any suggestions on different software or how to tweak ultra avi converter?
Bearing in mind that it has to be mpeg4 v1 video and pcm audio.

    try, virtualdub
video->compression select mpeg4 v1(you might need the https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=ASF_Codec installed) and audio->full processing for pcm audio.

If XviD was properly installed then you wouldn't get that mesage. Does XviD show up under the codec compression list in VDub? If not then it isn't installed.

ffdshow I am pretty sure can encode to MS MPEG-4 V1. Why exactly would you want to convert from ISO MPEG-4 to MS MPEG-4 though?

Yeah I have Xvid installed under video compression in Vdub I have two codec's listed both Xvid Mpeg-4 codec, one with fourcc code divx and the other xvid.
Ill try ffdshow when I get home.
I want to convert to mpeg4 v1 and pcm because ultimately I want to put the video on my phone (sharp 902). The program that converts video to something my phone can play will only accept mpeg4 v1 and pcm (i think, its called mediastage av100).

I just looked at virtualdub and I had the xvid codecs listed but thought may aswell try and install the codecs again so I did. The video compression list was still the same but now it can open the file. Thanks celtic! Can't find a setting to convert audio to pcm anywhere though.

If you set the audio to full processing you will get PCM.
