Program keeps freezing! Don't know what to do

I don't know what's happened, but everytime I edit with my Cyberlink Power Director (or even when I just push play to see what I have in the time line), the audio freezes up and "gets stuck"..playing the same segment over and over. Then the whole program freezes and I have to do a soft boot to close it down. I uninstalled it and then re-installed and the same thing happened agin ..and again..and again!!. Recently, I installed Nero oem suite which came with my new benq dl burner and then I started having problems with Cyberlink. I uninstalled the nero and thought I solved the problem..but here it goes again!! I checked out Cyberlink's forum..but it's as dead as a doornail..so I'm bringing this here. Any suggestions?

Do a System Restore in Windows XP and revert back to the earliest date that it was working (before you installed Nero OEM Suite). This has saved my computer on a few occations. Hope it fixes the problem!
