  1. I took some videos on my digital stills camera camera, and they wont play on my computer, unless i open with video LAN.

    This is annoying as the audio stutters, and is rubbish in video lan.

    I have tried on 2 computers to no luck, and my dads digital camera gives the same results.

    The videos used to work so i am stuck.

    the error message i get with WMP is:
    Windows Media Player encountered an unknown error. This can occur when another program or operating system component encounters a problem but does not communicate the nature of the problem to the Player.

    what is the container format. avi? mp4? mov?
    and what is the video and audio codec?

    Codec is mjpg for video and PCM audio

    Try checking the files with gspot to see what codec they require, then verify that you have that codec installed. From my experience, the mjpeg codecs have to be installed manually.
