    Hello???

    Check this one out. I captured another show from my DVR and dragged it over to HDTV2DVD. The time showed over 10 hours and the graph for the size was maxed out. Actual file size was right in line with the others at just under 7 gig and it was only 58 minutes long.

    I figured something went wrong on the capture, so I did it again. Now the time showed -23 hours. That's right negative 23. I figured what the hell, and tried to process it. It is running right now and is at 12,700% complete. I have to leave, but I am not going to shut it off. I want to see what it comes up with.

    I got that one burned to a disk.

    Back to tone of the initial ones that gave the errors. I ran one through mpeg2repair and HDTV2DVD will accept it now. Problem is, the time shows 1:52 for a 1 hour show. We'll see how this one goes.

    Anybody there?

    HDTV2DVD program is broken. I repaired the install but the problem is still there.

    It will no longer process files successfully. Including files that where able to be processed previously.

    An unhandled exception has occurred.

    See the end of this message for details on invoking
    just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    for some reason the autofit option does not work for me.

    I am using the Dual layer check and hitting autofit and I get a 1.5gig dvd with a horrible picture.

    When I do not use autofit I get a 9.5 gig dvd and for some reason dvdshrink fails to open one of the vob files...

    I am stuck either way... and suggestions??

    Below is the log... it made a 1.15 GB dvd... I had DL checked and hit autofit.

    I, also, noticed that after I hit autofit the number under the meter changes from
    52428800 to 50 MB... seems small

    am I doing something wrong?

    also, another note... this was a 3 hour nonHD show capture from a motorola box.

    It is becase the duration of the input file can't be determined. Either try the SVCD2DVD demo to see if that handles it properly or run the input file through VideoReDo's quickstream fix before processing with HDTV2DVD. The latter is outlined earlier in this thread.

    Chrissyboy thanks for your help... I will try that.

    Just, so, I know in the future... what in the log are you looking at to see that HDTV2DVD cannot determine the duration?

  9. I pretty sure it's here- note the numbers following 'Duration' in your log.

    Your log:

    =================== AV Details ===================
    file=E:\My Captures\Great Am Bash 90 WWE247.ts
    FormatName=mpegts
    Num_Frames=-2147483648
    DurationInSecs=-2147483648
    Duration=-577014:-32:-22.-7
    From a working log:

    =================== AV Details ===================
    file=C:\Documents and Settings\OG\My Documents\My Videos\temp\movie.ts
    FormatName=mpegts
    Num_Frames=215668
    DurationInSecs=7196
    Duration=01:59:56.1
    VideoReDo should fix it right up.

    I think you are abosultely correct, that's what the resolution is, because the broadcast is SD (not highdef) it is 480i.
    I was just really confused/concerned because your program displayed a lower bitrate, same as Gspot.....

    My final issue is that the audio is out of sync, there's a delay...

    Ok, I found where the problem is but don't know how to fix it.
    I downloaded VideoRedo, here are the results:

    1. the original .TS file has NO audio sync issues
    2. the sync issue is ONLY happening with the first .VOB file created by HDTV2DVD (VTS_01_1.VOB), the other 4 files have no issues.

    I tried to fix the first file with videoredo and saved new file as .VOB, however the audio is still out of sync.

    So the issue is the first file created by HDTV2DVD.

    What can I do ?

    Or run the original ts through VRD (and its quick streamfix) before SVCD2DVD/HDTV2DVD

    Chris, thanks but the original .TS does not have the problem. I opened this TS file with VRD and it plays perfect, so the audio issue was caused by hdtv2dvd but only for the first frame/file.

    I am playing with VRD to import the original .TS file and start the whole process again but VRD only gives me an output for the first 10 minutes of the stream.....I played this resulting VOB file and it works but I don't know how to get the complete movie into a VIDEO_TS folder like HDTV2DVD does......there's gotta be something I'm missing.

    Thanks for your time and help...!!!

    It is not about playing the file in VRD... the advice is to use QuickStream Fix.

    I understand, but even if the .TS file plays fine?

    Anyways, I tried that option but this only gives me a 1kb file when I choose either a .TS or .MPEG output. The process finish in just a couple seconds.

    Couple of questions:

    I have several HD shows that I want to put on DVD.

    From what I've read I can use VideoReDo or HDTVtoMPEG2 and save to .ts to remove commercials.

    What do I use to put several shows on 1 DVD-DL?
    HDTV2DVD + (what other authoring program?)
    Will SVCD2DVD (current registration is £1 (approx $2 USD)) author several shows to DVD?
    Quote Quote
  23. SVCD2DVD will do the conversion and multi show authoring very well and is more up to date than HDTV2DVD. I highly recommend it especially with the current discount. The editing I havent done much but I found VideoReDo more than adequate.

    Do you have .Net installed?

  27. Is a particular MS net needed?

    I just tried HDTV2DVD and like it a lot (it worked where others have failed), but it asked to install Net Framework 1.1 (which I did). Although everything works, now I have a new password-protected, hidden user account (ASP.NET Machine A...) and have to actively log into my Windows account (never needed to before nor do I want to). Can I delete the ASP.NET account and/or switch to a newer Net Framework (viz., 2.0)?

    Great program!

  28. I'm pretty sure all the .Net's are independent, 1.1 is the one required and another won't do. As for the rest of your queries, I'd look for the answers in another forum or section. Adding 1.1 didn't cause me the problems you describe.

    FYI - SVCD2DVD has all the functionality of HDTV2DVD and more, plus it's more up to date.

  29. Did some more digging - the ASP.NET account is created by the original Net Framwork 1.1 install (which is what the HDTV2DVD installer points to), but the auto-logon issue can be resolved by a registry addition or installing the Net Framework 1.1 sp1 update:

    This doesn't answer whether Net Framework 2 would also work, but it does facilitate things!

    you can just delete the asp.net user....

    as HDTV2DVD was written some time ago - you need 1.1 rather than 2.0
