I have had an Optorite DD0405 on the shelf for a while and finally installed. Seemd to burn okay and playback was okay (for me) .

I notcied issues when I tried to erase CD-RW , it would not erase even if it said it did.

Then terror struck. A customer that I burned disk for said they could not read theirs. I said try another DVD player. They did and get part way through. I off course offered to replace the disks. I have a master at home. Great...EXCEPT it too was created with the optoriteand when I try to copy my own disk to the hard drive (on any machine) about 1/3 of the way through VTS_VOB 03 always, iit hangs !!! Eventually CRC error.

This is pathetic. If I cannot copy from the clients disk then I have to reload tapes, go back to the beginning and RE-EDIT an entire wedding. Thanks alot optorite.

Anyone hear of this ? Anyone know how to get past the read error ? Arrggg

    And thanks in advance......Rob

I assume you have tried to read the disc in another drive besides the one it was written with and the customers drive? I have had this happen before. For me it was not a defective drive it was crappy writing software. I have been ble to get data off of discs with these problems by trying multiple drives that I own.
The real answer lies in completely understanding the question!

    Info

Media - Same - Says Mitsubishi

Vobs, etc created with DVD arch.

    Burned with Nero 6.

Not the media, nero or DVD arch.

Its the burner. I tried several tests with all of the above. ONLY those created on that burner have a problem, all somewhere in VTS_03_02

Gets CRC error and now I am hosed because the wedding I burned on there cannot be copied back. Sooooo

I have to reload all tapes and re-edit the whole damn thing.

    Thanks OPTORITE

I will have to be sure to add to the reviews so folks will BE WARE and BE AWARE
