  1. Hi all

I asked a question last week about adding 2 avi's to one dvd! and i got a lot of help thanks! what i was told was that the best way to do this would be to encode the 2 avi's first then use the tmpeg author programe to put them on the same dvd.

I have finally got round to trying this, i donwloaded the tmpeg author programme, and i am using Winavi to convert my avi's. Heres my problem

When converitng the avi's i have set winavi to convert them to DVD is this my mistake as when i go into the tmpeg author programme, and go to add file it does not "see" the VTS_01_1 file that Winavi has created, its looking for mpeg files etc. I can get it to see the vts file when i click on the "files of type" tag and go to all files but in my experience this then rarely works. Should i be converting to mpeg? but if i do this will i not lose the quality i would have had with the DVD Files.

Im sorry if this is basic stuff, but im quite new to this.

    Thanks again for your help

    Chris

Chris, convert to MPEG. Vob files are usually the finished article that have been authored. You won't lose any quality converting to MPEG rather than Vobs.

  4. Thanks i will try it later tonight, i did try the add dvd video option but when i selected the folder some error popped up!

I will probably just convert to mpeg 2 as my major issue with this was the loss of quality but if thats not an issue then it seems the way to go. Will let you all know how it goes.

    Thanks all

tmpgenc dvd author can do both MPG2 and from DVD. Just make sure in your NEW project you choose fromm DVD as the source. Then it will extract your track to a single MPG2 file. YOu can have it as two separate tracks or both movies in a single track.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!
