  1. I have been searching google, and these types of sites for related problems. If i try and playback a dvd or just any vob file, in any software it locks my machine, freezes cursor and everything. I have not changed any drivers besides possibly sound(reinstalled the same one). I can not figure out what the issue is. Im not sure if there is really codec's for dvd file playback or whatever.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Surely the mpeg2 codec (yes, there is such a thing, since Windows can't decode mpeg2 on its own) is acting up. Most DVD player soft comes with its own decoder - somewhere along the line, something screwed up. Try VideoLAN client, or uninstall every mpeg2 codec you have (can be a daunting task, finding and removing codecs...).
    It might help you get more help if you specified what "any software" means to you.
