I found this article on Yahoo news. The final part of it really made me laugh.

By 2008, the Detroit-based company said it will have five hybrid vehicles on the road, including the Escape, Mariner and Mazda Tribute SUVs, all based on the same platform, or vehicle underpinnings. The other two will be the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan mid-sized sedans.
5 hybrid vehicles? Sounds more like 2. Considering, as stated in the article, the Escape, the Mariner, and the Tribute are all based on the Escape platform. I think the Fusion and the Milan are based on the same platform also. Why don't the expand the hybrid line to other vehicles? I know it's a bit of an abomination, but what about the Mustang hybrid? Or how about the F-150 hybrid? Meanwhile, Toyota is gearing up to offer most of its models as hybrids.

American car companies should get with the times.

I can't believe they are finally going to produce an alternative fuel car. Of course, it won't be available in the U.S. because no one wants an Ethanol plant in their neighborhood.

Do people realize the benefits of getting away from Petroleum? I'm going to go out on a limb here and state that at least 80% of the people... ok, benefit of the doubt...78% of the people in this country (U.S.) are a bunch of backward morons.

I apologize for the rant, it's been a high-caffeine day.

it's an elite minority, and not the masses you should assign the title of backwards morons to...and it's not because they are stupid, just driven by the green stuff.
