Mediaplayer and streaming video

I'm having some problems with WMP10 and streaming video. When I'm a site such as cnn or fox and try to watch a video i click on it and there no video or loading of a video but can play a video in the player itself. Any ideas on this thanx all.

I was at CNN recently and it seemed that it wasn't loading properly but after waiting for few seconds it did. If I remeber correctly they don't use a progress bar which makes it appear as if there is no activity but the video is just buffering.

I'd assume that due to the huge amount of people visiting a site like that they may also be limiting the DL speed so it may take longer that usual to actually start playing.

there are other sites other than cnn that use mp to display video that is not working is there a plug-in i may be missing

No, the player is embedded in the HTML, to display you only need the player installed. If your blocking cookies that may be the problem, might be something else along those lines preventing the file from launching properly like a security setting.

Here's a link for a song that doesn't require anything but the player be installed, should download in few minutes, probably should start playing in no longer than 5 minutes at the very most if your on a 56k. Most likely it will start in a 2 minutes. It's 3mb.

Sorry don't know ahat to tell you, that link works for me in both IE and Firefox.

Maybe reinstall WMP?
