Okay I have Pearl Harbour 20th Aniversary edition which i would like to backup to a dvd5. Its a two disc dvd9.

Anyways prior to putting it through CCE i would like to remove a few parts with DVDRemake one being the option to bypass the parent control etc.

Now if i hide this block with dvdremake will the dvd still be functional? I know i can use pgc edit to bypass it but i want to remove it to gain as much space as possible from the dvd so that i can result in a very nice bitrate.

Use DVD Shrink in reauthor mode and drag just the main movie across. Kill off any audio you don't need. Now you have maximum bitrate for the movie. Save this out to the HDD with the compression settings set to no compression and all you will be doing is writing the new disk structure - Shrink won't touch the video. Now you can use CCE (I assume through DVD RB) to re-encode your disk.

  5. If you "Hide" the block you shouldn't have any problem with functionality. Removing blocks rather than hiding them can cause navigation problems.

It shouldn't take too long to find out - export the edited DVD from DVDRemake and test its playability with PowerDVD.

If maximising bitrate for the movie is priority, why keep anything but the movie ?
