when i use this program to make chapters all is fine until I go to click on output and say begin output. then instead of working it closes down program but i noticed it had made volume 1 folder but didnt put chapters on just empty folder

Are you sure you are not using a "modified" version of that program??

The folder would be there because the program 'attempted' to author but closed down; this would also explain why the folder is also empty. This program is very easy to work through and ideal for beginners upward.

I suggest you just go through it slowly and logically and i'm sure you'll get it right. I have entered the following steps pretty much as an absolute idiot/muppets guide to this; you just CANNOT get it wrong; if you do, then i give up!!

1. click create new project;
2. click add file;
3. now browse for where your mpeg2 file is and press 'open';
4. now click 'chapter cut edit' at top of screen;
5. now click the 'add' button just above 'OK';
6. i always use 'automatically insert a specified no. of chapters at a fixed interval'; this is a preference thing here; but you could click here and then enter the no. of chapters you wish to insert; then press 'OK';
7. now click 'OK'
8. now click on 'create menu' at top of screen;
9. again this is a preference thing here-do you have a menu or not; if so, what type of menu etc etc. Just try WITHOUT a menu for now; On the drop down box to the left select 'No Menu'. This wording will NOT appear on DVD-just ignore it;
10. now click on 'Output' at top of screen;
11. Ensure 'Create DVD folder' is ticked; now browse for where you want to put the created VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders; click 'Begin Output'.
12. JOB DONE!!!! You can then open up the incorporated burner and then burn to disc (make sure file size is appropriate for disc size).

did exactally as u said thegeeman but when i click on output program closes down just cant understand this as i have used this before np. is there another program which can make chapters for me on movies

is there anything dvd author needs or maybe i am missing as i have used this before no problem never closed down before it had authored movie like its doing now I am using version 1.6.26.73

Maybe try
1. an uninstall;
2. delete folder from 'My Computer', 'Program Files', 'Pegasys' etc,
3. then reboot;
4. re-install, then a final reboot.

well at long and very frustating last I have sorted my problem it was a .dll file called sfmpgdec which was corrupted even after i reinstalled it now I got a better dll and it works fine thanks all for helping
