Just wondering if someone might have some advice for me….? I’m looking for a DVD recorder that has a TV tuner and a hard disk. I suppose it might be a DVR but I don’t know enough to tell. Since I am with the US Military in Honduras for a year I can’t spend an arm and a leg to buy it.

    Thanks,

A DVD recorder is like a VCR .. but with DVDs. So they all ahve tuners. Some have hard drives too.

    Get a Pioneer or JVC.

The Pioneer DVR-531H-s is a stand alone DVD recorder with a built-in 80GB HDD. This unit sells at WALMART for about $337 + tax.

Please note that in the USA we use the NTSC video format. I have no idea what video format is in use in HONDURAS but if you plan on using it there it might not work!
