    i hope this is the right forum to talk about this....i need a 3iv2 decompressor codec to play this movie file i have...vlc crashes every time i open it up in that player...so i want the codec to be able to play it on my windows media player...anyone?

    ffdshow supports the fourCC 3IV2, but that would be via libavcodec, same as VLC. MPEG4 is MPEG4 though so it should be able to decode fine without crashing.

    It could also be a corrupt file.
