  1. Im using DVD-Lab pro which when your doing the subs has an option for set this subtitle always on by default. Now when the DVD is compiled the subs work on the PC but burning it and putting it in my DVD player they are off by default.

Is there anyway to force subs on another way?

    Thanks!

Load the ifo for your movie into IFOEdit. Under Title Set (Movie) Attributes find your subtitle track and double click. Under coding caption set it to forced caption and hit ok. Way down on the bottom left hit Save and those subs should be on by default now.

  3. Adam thanks, hate to sound like a newb but could you please give more detailed steps?

I dled IFOEdit, went to the folder and there were two IFO files.

    VIDEO_TS.IFO and VTS_01_0.IFO

So then I look for Title Set Attributes and click on it, the bottom screen changes. Now I look in there for my sub track. Cant see anything obvious thats the sub track.

(BTW there are 9 movie files on here each with a sub track)

So I see VTS_1: Number of sub-picture streams in Title and double click this, all I can do is set a value. I see no option for coding caption.

    Thanks!

  4. Also Adam, do you have any reccomendations on
Font, Font Size, length of lines.

Basically looking for the best possible way to have subs look the best.

I often find the subs are too big, but when I go smaller i have the line length too short and I have subs that span 2 lines that could span one.

    Thanks!

You would open the VTS_01_0.IFO. Don't touch anything at the top. On the first screen that pops up just find the section titled Title Set (Movie) Attributes and then double click on the subtitle stream there.

In dvdlab, open the connections window (where you see icons of all your movies and menus).

Select movie #1 and right click it. Select UOP's and settings. At the top right, in the box under "initially set subtitle" it should say "show subtitle 1" and NOT default. (You might try unticking the box that says "strictly adhere to dvd..." as well.)

Repeat this for all your movies. (Select, right click, UOP's and settings, "show subtitle 1".) If that doesn't work, go to your project tab and select "Debug project". Run through all the commands and see if anything to do with turning subs off comes up. You may have accidentally turned them off inadvertently elsewhere in your project.

  9. Ok well did that and all movies say "Show Subtitle 1" not the default so thats not the problem.

Next the "strictly adhere to dvd standards" was unticked. So Does anyone else have any suggestions?
