  1. In the past I have used Decryptor & shrink + CopyToDVD [Though I have an OEM, NERO -It's seems only good for CDs].

Over time, since neither Decryp or Shrink are supported, lfe is getting more difficult. First had to move from 'Write' to 'Read' and finally to 'File' in order to get double layered DVD's down small enough to burn; using shrink to kill all "Extra's" -Onto a single layer DVD-R.

I went to anyDVD's site, but can't see what is used to actually burn, or does it do that to? Does it actually work well?

The stopper came up with SIN CITY. I would assume this can not be handled by Decryp/Shrink. Even with still image use. In fact I found when getting the movie down to 4.32g -Killed CopyToDVD and had to unistall/reinstall.

I tried VOBBlanker, but I guess I don't know how to use it because the riped files are not seen by any burner.

    Ideas?

    Cheers

I did SinCity with just DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink 3.2, no problems at all.

I've never even had CopyToDVD or anyDVD on my pc's although many people seem to swear by them

ripped with Decrypter, shrank with Shrink to an ISO image, burned ISO image back to dvdr with Decrypter 8)

try DVDFabDecryper when DVD Decrypter won't work.

AnyDVD is a protection breaker that sits between your decryption program and the DVD itself. It removes CSS and POUs and Arcoss of the the fly as you read them.

I would sugest that CopytoDVD was not broken by and disk you were trying to copy, as it only writes unprotected content anyway. If it did break, it was something else causing it.

Perhaps were are fortunate over here. I have yet to come across a disk that dvd decrypter couldn't rip. I have never used Shrink to rip - there just didn't seem much point with decrypter on the PC - and Shrinking directly off the original is several times slower than shrinking from the HDD after decrypter has done it's thing.
    Read my blog here.

Thank You!!! I am still waiting after months and months and months.... of people saying there are dvd's that DVD Decrypter cant rip, to get ahold of one of these disc's... (Gurm)

The only thing's i have ever used!!!
    1: DVD Decrypter
    2: DVD Shrink 3.2

And yet!!! to see one dvd that i could not back up :P

But from what the OP said, he has not even tried DVD Decrypter to rip this movie before trying Shrink on it....... and im in the U.S. the same as he is... but, i have never used Shrink to rip dvd's either... always used DVD Decrypter then DVD Shrink.

I have yet to see any need to even install DVD fab Decrypter or AnyDVD, yet i see people hawking them both on a regular basis

  5. Well, after many hours, I deleted CopyToDVD & Shrink -Reinstalled both.

I have found that SIN CITY, along with some other backups, won't run! The end result after complety deleting CopyToDVD and Shrink ~Re installing & using Decryptor as the burner -Ends up with a blank burned disk! I don't state this lightly, as many, many hours were involved.

I ended up using Decryptor as the burner, nothing; was the end result! I'm a bit miffed as this whole process took several HOURS [A day]. I tried ISO with Decrpt, both Read & write & the only way Shrink acknowledged anything was a 'File' write from Decryp. But, again..Nothing burned, that was exucatable on a DVD player or off the PC, using PowerDVD.

    The size was compliant.

*Sucks* So, what does it take, using XP Pro as an OS?

first off, yes anydvd works good, and it's cool 'cause it just sits silent and allows you to drag & drop dvd files like they're not protected.

second, that's weird you think Sin City messed up your proggy 'cause my buddy swears as soon as he put it (Sin City) in his pc he got a virus alert sourcing the dvd out...?
I am just a worthless liar,
    I am just an imbecil

  7. I believe your friend has a point! Never had an issue before this. I do know something about source codes, just expected results...Now I think I'll tear this piece of crap apart & see what happened!

It's worth noting IF, this DVD did indeed crash out anything via a trojan or virus; then there is a good possibilty of someone visiting their door! Hope, I'm the first to beat that door down. I'm not entirely sure yet as it seems Gunslinger had results...I don't want to cause problems, unless it's deserved. It would be good to see if anyone else is having the same issues?

    Meantime I'll consider AnyDVD.

    Cheers

Ahem... i live in the U.S. also and i have friends that did this movie and also had no problems... no studio is going to intentionaly let out a dvd that contains a virus

I remember a bunch of people saying the same thing about "The Incredibles"
It crashed my pc, it has a virus, it has a new copy protection
Gurm said for anyone that was so sure they had one of these "magic" dvd's to send it to him so he could prove them wrong... don't think anyone ever took him up on it though....

Hell, i'd buy the original disc from you just to see if it causes me any problems....

  9. Ok, saved me some time I'll not knock a new concept, but it would be 'Nice' to see why the same settings [All] won't produce results?

So why is this different ?~ I'm using the same process? In fact spent a whole day using every option in both Shrink & Decryptor, installed uninstalled~Deleted any Reg files; guess I'm really stupid...Lol -[Need to give up my Day job]. Lol

    Cheers

  10. Turns out it was simple, when choosing how to run a burner, DON'T use the Windows OS driver [wnaspi32.dll]. No problem since realizing that was the issue.
