I have a bunch of video clips which i have converted to mpeg2 using WinAVI converter. the resulting files play back fine, with no audio sync problems.
however i then use tmpg dvd author to prepare them all to go onto a single disc (with menu etc) and after doing so, the audio loses sync with the video - i need not burn the disc, just playing the vob files back on the computer does this
it sounds like a sample rate problem - the audio begins in sync, then gradually loses sync as the file is played, becoming more and more in front of the picture.
the clip format (before authoring) is this
MPEG2 720x480 29.97fps (4:3) NTSC 9000kbps
DD AC3, 48khz stereo, 224kbps
any ideas? as i mentioned earlier, the audio is perfectly in sync *after* converting the clips from AVI to MPEG2, the sync only dies when i actually author the things...
