    i have an xvid encoded video... when i try to encode it to any of the formats (vcd svcd dvd etc) tmpgenc preview shows black square as if the whole video is the black screen and nothing else... output file also shows black screen... however a video file itself plays perfectly on windows player... avicodec says that file is encoded with xvid and it's supported... i don't have xvid codec installed though - just divx and it plays perfectly but tmpgenc thinks it's just a collection of black frames and doesn't show error when i load file... i tried to install xvid which i got from koepi site - didn't change a thing

    have you tried change the directshow priority? www.videohelp.com/tmpgenc#problems

    Increase the DirectShow priority to the highest so that it reaches the top of the list. Then reload the file and encode.
    When I was born I was so shocked that I could'nt speak for 18 months.
