  1. Is there any way to convert an .mpg or .wmv file or any format for that matter to the format that plays on Quicktime? I believe it is a .mov file, correct?

Out of curiosity, what necessitates converting everything to .mov? Are you having problems playing the files in other players?

  3. Actually, it is not for me. A member on a forum that I frequent states that they cannot play videos from my site on their Apple computer. I was wondering the same thing but didn't ask.

Tell them to use VLC or mplayer instead of Quicktime.

  5. I'm sure you can use Quicktime to view MPG files. But to answer the question, you need to purchase the Sorenson video codec, then encode to this from a video editor like virtualdub.

Quicktime supports playback of more than just Sorenson. You could for instance encode to SP MPEG-4 (XviD, DivX, libavcodec, etc.) or MP AVC (requires QT7).
