I recently purchased some Memorex 4x/8x DVD+RW discs to backup my PC and noticed that my Pioneer DVR-107D cannot recognize the discs. My Pioneer works just fine with Memorex 2.4x/4x DVD+RW media.
Is that bump in media speed that big a problem? And why?
I'd appreciate it if you guys could enlighten me.

Yeah, I know that, but the Memorex DVD+RW is labeled 4x/8x compatible.Originally Posted by Gen-An

Try a newer f/w, or a different one.
Check media compatibility to the left.
Try some other brand of +RW, or identify what MID the Memorex is.

Thanks for the suggestions.Originally Posted by QuaiBoy

The Pioneer doesn't recognize the disc, so identifying the MID isn't possible.
