Hi
I am about to get a new pc
but i am not able to choose between he processors
so i have come up with 2 of the best .
Intel Pentium D 840 3.2GHz Dual Core
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4400+ 2.2GHz Socket 939
Some People say most of the video Editing programs are optimized for intel processors. some say AMD is cheap bla bla.
And also does programs like DVD2SVCD or TMPGENC or Pinnacle support dual core ?.
COmments Plze.

I'm assuming that dual-core works like SMP so apps that are SMP-aware would take advantage of a dual-core CPU. Of those you listed I know for a fact that TMPGEnc does work with SMP. Most of the Adobe apps are also SMP-aware such as Premiere, AfterEffects, Photoshop, etc. Tough choice between the two though, I'd say if 75% of your work is video work or uses Adobe/Vegas apps then go the Intel. If not get the AMD. Intel does still favor multimedia apps but the margin between them is narrowing.
FB-DIMM are the real cause of global warming
