Does anyone know where to get dvd warning screens such as the FBI warning (if possible, the newest screen) and the InterPOL screens (both french and english).
I'd like to put these into my dvds, I know that they are free and a person could probably get them by contacting the FBI or InterPOL but there usually is a lot inquiring and usually takes a while for them to process your request and TIME is not what I have plenty of!!!
Your help is much appreciated.
Thanx in advance.

Simple way is to find a DVD that has these on it already, its a very small VOB file, and rip that off the DVD and use it in yours
If you want it to play first, assuming your authoring software can do it, set that as the first play and then set it to play the other tracks after, so when a DVD is inserted it will play the warning first then the main feature
You can use this method to play any other short video introduction as well -
It would be illegal to use them on your discs without permission. Your best bet is to find the statement and tweak it and reword it a little bit. Unless you've actuallty filed with the federal government for a copyright you can't use them.

Well..if you want to steal stuff from the Federal Government...then go right ahead. Can't wait till ya have to pay the price though because it's going to be pretty funny!

Bullshit!
Those warning screens are just a summary of public US code. As such, it is owned BY THE PEOPLE (aka public domain). A particular screen design might be copyrighted, but the text is open to anyone who wants to use it. Now the FBI logo itself might be a different matter...

And to add to the above copyright can be calimed on any original the moment it is made. There's no fees, registration ....etc. Simply making it known such as putting a copyright mark on it makes it copytrighted by the author.... at least in the U.S.

Try here for info:

Currently you have to be a MPAA/RIAA member, although they are trying to license it out to others
You may want to especially check the last line out. -

No more about the legality of this, it is perfectly legal to use both, under generic copyright law in all countries.
Look here ->
In the meantime, it is perfectly fine for anyone, without FBI approval, to use the following generic language on material protected under U.S. copyright law: "Warning: The unauthorized reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal. Criminal copyright infringement, including infringement without monetary gain, is investigated by the FBI and is punishable by up to 5 years in federal prison and a fine of $250,000."
And that straight off of http://www.fbi.gov/ipr/
Interpol has a similar policy.
The screens are not copyrighted !!!!! Copyrighting the screens does violate the Federal Criminal law under the sections pertaining unatharized use. The FBI is not a company like Paramount, or THX. So if you have nothing useful to add to this forum, do not lecture me on legality.
A friend gave me a psd/png/txt set that the fbi sent him about a decade ago, but It took months, and I dont have that kind of time. This is the old seal, with the white on blue.
There used to be a torrent with all the splashes in it, but there seems to be no more seeds.ShDwScLaN -
And again, from that same site I posted, here is the final blurb:
A last word to the wise:Unauthorized use of the FBI seal, name, and initials are subject to prosecution under Federal Criminal law, including Sections 701, 709, and 712 of Title 18 of the United States Code
Yes, you can use the wording, you can not use the logo. -
Please, you sound important, but you speak gibberish, before you say anything more please actually read Title 18 and stop quoting it. Specifically section 709 part (b) and number (3), section 712 refers back to 709, and as for 701, I am not using it as a badge, an identification card or printing it on a bumper sticker, but make the viewer aware of piracy consequences. Proper use of the symbol is defined in 709 b 3 so PLEASE stop waisting my time !!! If you cant post anything useful, dont post anything at all.

So, in short, yes you can use the logo, but it depends where, and use of such a logo to protect a motion picture is legal defined in USC 18 709 b 3.
Now back to the subject, where can I get the new splash screen, I just dont want to create these screens from scratch which would take many hours in AIShDwScLaN -
Ultimately, If I cant find these splashes, I will have to make them, so any help would be fine, you can submit splashes, graphics or text -> especially the french interpol text...
Thanks in advanceShDwScLaN
