Hi, I have some footage filmed with a sony HD camcorder. I need to capture it on my hard drive then edit it. What software do you recommend? Can I do it similarly to capturing DV through the firewire? What format shall I output it afterwards for best quality?Do I need a codec in order to output it?
I have and athlon64 3700+ and i am am just about able to play the HD clips from the QUICKTIME official website. I am thinking therefore to output the edited footage still in HD.
Any suggestions are welcome since i have not done this before.Thanks[/quote]

Shouldn't be any different than normal video capture through firewire.
