TV tuner/capture card: AverTV USB 2.0
when i capture a VHS tape to my second HD (60 GB/7200rpm) using vdub 1.6.10 with HUFFYUV 2.1.1 using the WDM option in device menu i have a lot dropped frames (about 25-30%). after this i tried the option 1 in the device menu of virtualdub which is the name of my card (=AverTV usb 2.0) and i found that it drops 17 frames in the beginning and then 4-5 frames per 1000 captured frames. the strange for me is the big file size in this case. For an hour it seem to be about 50+ GB. Are all these normal? Can i do something to reduse the file size?
And something else...using a usb 2.0 external HD for capture will have problem such as dropped frames?

Filesize seems normal for me....
In case you want less filesize for your captures, use an mjpeg based codec (like morgan, picvideo, etc)
