I was wondering if there is a DVD authoring soft that can do hardsubs... no matter how i try the few guides that teach how to do it(hardsubs), i still can't do it properly... i only manage to "make" hardsubbed dvd's, by playing a dvd(subs on) that is connected to a standalone dvd recorder, recording the whole thing... but, it tooks a lot of time(more precisely, the time/duration of the video itself)... please, if someone can point me an effective an easy way(yes, i'm really dumb) to make permanent subs, i appreciate, thank you so much. And yes, i'm aware that re-encoding is necessary, BUT, there must be an easy way to do it(at least i hope).
Thanks for the attention

Have you tried this one? https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/153058.php
You would do it during an encode, not at the authoring stage. -
Right - That's part of the encoding (or rather filtering) stage, not the authoring stage. Easily done with VirtualDub or AviSynth.

Hi, you guys. Thanks for answering. Well, i already have a dvd(i can turn on and off the subs), authored using DVD Maestro(i only have perfect results on dvd authoring using DVD Maestro, i've tried other softs, but unsuccessfully, OR, with bad results... BTW, i'm not trying to make DVD Maestro propaganda), and, i want to make this same dvd, BUT, with hardsubs... that's my intent. Permanent subtitles, that can't be separate from the video, just like subtitles on a vhs tape... people can even try to extract the subtitles/scripts(using softs like Subrip) to SRT, SUB or SSA files(but i want to make things more difficult to them, cause rip hardsubs is boring and tooks a long time and patience), but not turn the video into a "RAW" (without subtitles) video again. That is possible? Any tips?Originally Posted by Faithful Follower
