I lost some of my video files during an unsuccessful hard drive conversion to a file system. I restored these files through Easy Recovery Professional. But now they are not recongnized by any video player. I have been told that fixing these files is possible by Hex Editing. Can anyone suggest any ideas how I can start? The files are in avi format. Thank You!

What format are the files ? AVI ? MPG ?

Sometimes the operation is a success, but you lose the patient.

LS means it is data restoration, not video restoration. The fact that the content of the file was once video is incidental until you get it back. Until then it is a data restoration issue.

I am lost!!! OK this is what I am doing. I am using Hex Workshop 4.2. I go into the file and look for RIFF....AVI. So I delete everything before it. But when I do this on large files like 2GB it gives me that it cannot edit the file. But for few hundered MB files, it is working. I have restored few of these files, but cannot do it to large GB files. Anyone with experience, please help!
