Take it one step below your third listing.

It's loud, it doesn't record at it's max speed, forced to record at max speed it burns coasters, won't recognize quite a few companies discs, and it's read/rip speed is less than advertised. It's not worth the price even if someone is giving you a few bucks to take it from them. Buy any $40 16x burner instead.

Sure why not just buy any burner and put it in an external enclosure. With enclosure it will cost you more than 40 bucks though.

this completely defeats the purpose of a laptop... you know just 1 machine.


but seriously this writer has performed flawless so far(approx 400 dvds and 20 cds) so i guess its not THAT bad.

really.....i had always assumed that the purpose of a laptop was porability. either way, the external enclosure would be USB, so you dont have to take it everywhere.

as opposed to an internal which i CAN take it with everywhere.

lets see: laptop + external burner(usb)= 2 peices

laptop with internal burner= 1 peice

wow math is hard

also why would i buy a laptop with a dvd burner just to use an extenal. while im at it ill just get a converter and put my desktop in my truck...mouse,keyboard,speakers,monitor, and tower....yes thats it 5 peices

laptop + external burner(usb) = use your burner on ANY machine

wow flexibility is hard
