voip requires an internet connection correct?

what if upload or download a lot of data, will that kill my voip phone connection?

i find my local phone service to be a lot more reliable than my dsl.. not to say that my dsl isnt reliable, but i cant remember the last time my phone service went out.. it's been a few years.. and even then, it was only out of city service, i could still call people in the city & emergency services.

Here's some info on MLM if anyone is interested. Beware this form of thievery is getting pretty lucrative at the moment. I think the big thing now is some exhobitantly priced juice that's supposed to be super healthy... anyway read on if you want....

Google info, be aware some of those links lead to sites that are smoke and mirrors set up by the MLM people themselves.

VoIP will NOT kill any telco, not in America at least.
The telcos here have already effectively killed any potential VoIP competition.
Its going to be either VoIP provided by [enter name of your local branch of one of the giant telco corporation], or there will be no voip at all (except for the skype/messenger and such).

Pretty good insight on how they manipulate it is here:

Many state governments are run by them.
Do you need any more info than that?
