  1. I have this Kosch player... It doesn't get the best reviews but I couldn't resist not buying it when Futureshop had it on sale for $29.99... regular price is $59.00 (Canadian prices)...

    first let me assure u there is nothing wrong with your player.
    Here is the solution to ur problem.The player comes factory set
    to `auto`mode(refer to user manual),in which the picture starts
    rolling if the tv set is not multi-system.Now to play pal dvd u
    set the player setting to pal and make sure ur tv is also set to pal,then
    play the dvd and enjoy.But in case ur tv system is ntsc then set the player
    to ntsc and ur pal dvd will play fine since this player has a built in
    pal to ntsc converter.Refer to user manual for setting details.
