  1. Hello.
I want to convert DV (interlace) to Divx but i try a lot of things and always when i convert, you can see the tipical lines on reproduction. I don't know what i can do to reproduce correctly my film.
I have installed ffshow and powerDVD and always the same.

    Thanks

I just use VirtualDub Mod along with the Panasonic DV codec to read and the Xvid codec to encode to Xvid from DV. You can also use a deinterlace filter in VD before the Xvid encode. All freeware.

  3. Noooooooo
I want to PRESERVE INTERLACE and then when I reproduce the film, media player or powerDVD makes deinterlace on fly.
Example: When I see the original DV film happen that media player and more codecs deinterlace on fly.
I want the same but with Divx film.

    Thanks

I remember reading somewhere here that Divx doesn't support interlace, but I don't use it myself so I can't confirm.

Edit: Quick search indicated that starting with version 5, interlace is supported.

  5. Divx and Xvid support interlace but, as far as I know, there are no software players that deinterlace on-the-fly. Maybe some of the latest Divx6 certified set-top players? My old Liteon 2002 will play them but it slips in and out of the correct field order.
