i have no idea why it does it, i try to encode a file and then halfway through the program just closes, no error messages nothing.
It's really annoying because it's doing it every time i try to encode something.
Does anyone know what might be causing this and how i can fix it ??

Corrupted source file?
Have you tried an uninstall and reinstall to see if that fixes the problem? -
i don't think thats the problem, i've decreased the priority of the AVI VFW compatiblity reader and thats helped.
thanks for the reply though. -
Bad frames in source avi can cause this. Try frameserving it through
virtualdub first.
