I used the resize filter to create a frame around an AVI file (so it wouldn't cut off the subtitles when watched on a television). It worked, however, it resulted in a 24 GB file.
Anyone know what I did wrong?

If you save it in the default format of VD, it will be huge.
Use another codec to save. If you started with a Xvid or Divx, then use that codec to save it. There are also adjustments for the codecs, but that is more complex.
